We usually reach for the middle of the heat scale — books with 3 or 4 chili peppers. The kind with plot, feelings, and at least one scene that lives in your brain rent-free. But wherever you land, we’ve got a match.

Here’s how we break it down:

Slow-burn with "fade to black" vibes. Whispers. Glances. Fingers barely brushing. It's giving Victorian yearning in a modern group chat. Ideal if you like to suffer through the pining.

One open door scene per book. You’ll get the tension, the build-up, and one scene you’ll reread three times before moving on. Spice is present but polite.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ Hot and Bothered
Two to three open door scenes. This is where we live. Expect dirty talk, emotional eye contact, and at least one “you’re mine” in italics. The spice is hot and so are the feelings.

High-heat with heart. These books bring the heat and the heartbreak. More than three steamy scenes, plus actual consequences. You’ll probably cry and like it.
